Akron Brass Line of Reels, Tools, and Lighting Features Continue to Grow

Friday, February 01, 2008

Wooster, Ohio – With the introduction of their Low Profile Booster Hose Reel and Compact Cord Reel, Akron Brass has announced the newest additions to their growing family of electric rewind reel products.

By being lower height and not requiring as much compartment depth as similar reels, the new Low Profile Booster Hose Reel (ERWB-16-28) can fit in spaces where others can not.  With a capacity of 250-feet of ¾-inch or 150-feet of 1-inch hose, it is perfect for brush trucks, skid units, off-road utility vehicles, and rear body compartments.

As with other Akron Brass reel products, the Low Profile Booster Hose Reel is extremely durable with a powder-coated paint finish and stainless steel hardware.  Other standard features include a protective chain guard, hand crank, and tension control.  The reel is backed by a 5-year warranty including the electric motor.

Designed to be uncommonly short (11.5-inch height), the new Compact Electric Rewind Cord Reel (ERWC-10-16) can still hold 100-feet of 10/3 600 volt cable or 150-feet of 12/3 600 volt cable.   With its compact frame and disc design, the reel can easily fit in a 12-inch tall void.  Stand it upright, and it can be mounted on a 12-inch deep shelf without overhanging the back wall of a compartment.  This reel also has a 5-year warranty.

For their hand tool line, Akron is now offering a new Roof Hook.  Designed with the highest grade materials, this all around tool can be used for forced entry, prying open roof scuttles and sky lights, venting windows, pulling ceilings, opening walls, and much more.

Finally, another new product feature relates to the Akron Brass Extenda-Lite® Telescopic Pole family of items.  Akron is now incorporating a new mechanical locking collar which will be standard on their Extenda-POD tripods, Push-Up and Pull-Up poles, and Swiveling Bases.

The new locking collar for these poles was designed for ease of use while wearing gloves and with its knurled surface area, a good grip can be maintained during the worst conditions.  With its clear anodized coating and low friction internal parts, it can not be over tightened and will provide years of reliable service.  The new locking collar mechanism is backed by an Akron 5-year warranty.
