Akron Brass Unveils New Reel, Collapsible Pole and Tool Products

Friday, November 09, 2007

Wooster, Ohio – Akron Brass has introduced a new model electric rewind cord reel, chrome-plated options for their hydraulic and booster hose reels, a new manual mast or collapsible pole assembly, and their McLeod Tool.

To meet the requirements of the fire service and OEMs, Akron Bras now has a compact electric rewind cord reel.  In order to maximize remaining compartment space, this reel was designed to be narrow yet hold a substantial amount of wire or cable.  With its slim profile, two (2) side-motor mount reels can be nested together in only a 27-inch wide space.  One (1) reel ordered with a rear-mount motor requires only a 13.5-inch mounting space or area.  This reel retains all the features and durability of the complete Akron Brass reel portfolio such as a powder-coated paint finish, stainless steel hardware, and pre-wired internal slip rings for safe, fast, and efficient power distribution.

Though extensive testing has shown that the Akron Brass standard powder-coat paint finish is highly resistant to phosphate ester-based hydraulic fluids, for those that want a chrome-plated option for cosmetic or aesthetic reasons, Akron now provides this option for their hydraulic hose reel products.  Additionally, this same chrome-plated option is now available with their booster hose reel as well.

In terms of a new light head, strobe, or antenna mounting system, Akron Brass has unveiled their new manual mast product.  This collapsible pole assembly is designed to be folded away into its respective stored position.  Anywhere that side mounting or internal compartment mounting is not an option, this pole assembly provides a viable alternative and it can be permanently mounted on a flat surface.  The perfect application is with roofs of utility vehicles, tops of skid units, or even mobile generator trailers.

A final new item is the Akron Brass McLeod Tool for forestry applications.  Combining a hoe and rake into one tool, it breaks down easily for packing into the most remote locations.  With heavy-duty welded construction and a corrosion resistant power-coated finish, the Akron Brass McLeod Tool is made for the harsh rigors of the forestry service.
