Akron Brass Introduces New Products for Mining Market

Wooster, Ohio –  Engineered for the harsh rigors of global mining applications, Akron Brass announced several new products for the unique and important needs of these customers.

First, Akron has developed their Style 4462 Rampage™ master stream nozzle with electric pattern actuation.  Constructed with all brass and stainless steel, the 4462 Rampage flows 500 – 1000 gpm @ 100 psi (1900 – 3800 lpm @ 7 bar).  Available with 12 or 24v motors, all critical exposed surfaces are protected by heavy-duty, weather resistant bellows.

Next, the Akron Brass Style 4471 AkroFoam™ self-educting foam nozzle now has electric pattern actuation as well.  Capable of flowing 350, 500, 750, and 1000 gpm @ 100 psi (1300, 1900, 2900, and 3800 lpm @ 7 bar), the new 4471 AkroFoam nozzle is also constructed of rugged brass and stainless steel.  Foam concentrate can be proportioned 1%, 3%, and 6% solution for 350 and 500 gpm and 1% and 3% for 750 and 1000 gpm.  Depending on geographic preference, 12 or 24v motor options are available and any exposed areas are protected with strong, weather resistant bellows.

Finally, Akron has introduced the Style 3524 Omega™ SD (Severe-Duty) water cannon (or monitor) for extensive duty-cycle use in mining, tank cleaning, and equipment wash down.  Engineered with an exclusive severe-duty mechanical joint design and cast-in turning vanes, this durable workhorse is made with brass and stainless steel.  Maximum flow is 1250 gpm (4800 lpm) and the 3524 Omega SD has 360 degrees of horizontal rotation and + 90 to -90 degrees of vertical elevation.

All the above products complement the existing Style 3491 and 3492 Severe-Duty Water Cannon or Monitor that is already being utilized extensively for mining and construction dust control.
