Alexis Fire Equipment, Alexis, IL
Jeff Morris, President
Alexis Fire Equipment was founded by Gene Morris in his hometown of Alexis, Illinois, in 1947. Since that time, the company has evolved and grown from a small fabrication shop with a handful of workers to a large and well-equipped manufacturing company that employs over 75 skilled engineers, assemblers, mechanics, and support staff. As one of the few remaining family-owned fire apparatus manufacturers in the Midwest, Alexis continues to provide its customers with quality products, personal care, and superior service.
Jeff Morris is president of Alexis Fire Equipment and is proud of the tradition started by his father. He is also proud of his company’s long association with Akron Brass. “We started using Akron products more than 40 years ago,” he notes. “Akron makes good products and offers good warranties, so we are always confident in recommending Akron components to our customers.”
Akron Brass monitors are particularly popular with Alexis customers, who see the value in being able to place master streams in operation quickly. This is especially true for customers who specify top-mount pump panels that provide an excellent view of the fire scene and allow the pump operator to easily aim the monitor from an elevated position.
Among the many other Akron Brass products specified on Alexis apparatus are valves, lights, and even nozzles. “We offer our customers a full range of products, including any loose equipment they might need, such as nozzles,” says Morris. “Akron’s broad product line is one of the reasons we have had a strategic alliance with them for so long.”
